The Sleeping Peak, 1 of 3 clusters of three hillside off-grid structures designed to offer a self-sustaining and eco-friendly living experience in the rural area of Kennedy Meadows, CA.

It integrates three essential units: a restful sleeping unit, a kitchenette / dining unit, and a lavatory unit.

JMDS designed the sleeping unit with flexible, fold-away furniture that maximizes space and functionality for different activities. The lavatory unit utilizes a composting toilet and greywater recycling system, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maintaining comfort and convenience.

The structure is assembled from CNC’d components for an efficient and sustainable assembly process. Situated on a unique mountainous site, the sleeping unit is carefully positioned to offer beautiful views of the surrounding 313-acre landscape, creating a serene connection with nature while providing a peaceful retreat.
